Following our recent move from Toronto to Hamilton, Ontario my wife Angie has convinced me to part with a few of my reference sets. These are sets I’ve either bought for research purposes or for some unique and interesting feature. There has been little or no restoration to the original patina of these sets at all, as in my opinion, they are perfectly beautiful as is. This Wolf-Eared Knights set merely came to me with loose weights (actually, ‘bolts’ were used instead of the usual moulded lead weight), a situation that has been remedied and the ‘bolts’ secured and retained. The weight was missing from a few pieces which I’ve replaced, matching weight to the set.
Both Kings carry the signature of the restorer on their bases and come with our unique Chess Schach CoA (Certificate of Artistry) which are posted off at the end of the year once we tally up how many sets passed through our galleries in 2022 (See the Jan. 2022 Chessay on our ALL ABOUT CHESS page for more info on these CoAs).
